**Lady Eagles Open State Tournament Against South Greene Today**
Summertown begins its pursuit of a fourth volleyball state championship today as the Lady Eagles face South Greene at **5 p.m. Central at Rockvale High School** in the opening round of the TSSAA Class A State Tournament. Summertown enters with a 31-14 record, while South Greene comes in at 23-14.
Under head coach Madison Dinwiddie, the Lady Eagles are making their third consecutive state tournament appearance and 23rd overall. Summertown earned its trip with a five-set victory over Huntingdon in the region semifinals, followed by sweeps of Loretto for the region championship and Harpeth in the sectional round. The Lady Eagles finished third at state last season and are seeking their first state title since 2022.
Today’s matchup brings together two programs with history on the state stage. Summertown and South Greene met in the 2021 state championship match, with South Greene winning in five sets. This time, a Summertown victory would send the Lady Eagles to Wednesday’s noon semifinal against the winner of Merrol Hyde and Bledsoe County.
Fans traveling to support the Lady Eagles can purchase tickets in advance through GoFan for $13 per day, or pay $15 cash at the gate. School-age children and older must have a ticket. Rockvale High School is located at 6545 Highway 99 in Rockvale, and a clear bag policy is in effect.
